Booking an independent Daewoo repair

We are a licensed UAE repair company working across Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Ajman, 24 hours a day. Every repair carries a 90-day warranty on parts and labour, and the call-out is waived when you approve the work. If your appliance is still under Daewoo warranty, use Daewoo's own service channel first — an independent repair may affect that cover.

Which Daewoo appliances we repair

We service Daewoo refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, condenser dryers, microwaves, cooking ranges and ovens. Every fault is tested and confirmed before any part is replaced, and you approve the price before work starts.

Common Daewoo fault codes and what they actually mean

These are codes we are called out for on Daewoo appliances in the UAE. A code narrows the search — it does not name the broken part on its own, which is why every job starts with a test rather than a guess.

IE — washing machine

The machine has started filling but the pressure/water-level sensor is not registering a rise, so it stops and flags a water inlet fault. Daewoo boards trip this when the level sensor reading does not move meaningfully within about 10 minutes of fill starting, or the target level is not reached within about 60 minutes. Usual causes: tap turned off or low pressure, blocked inlet valve filter, failed inlet valve, or a faulty pressure sensor.

Usually: Closed or partly closed tap, kinked or blocked inlet hose, clogged inlet filter screen, failed inlet solenoid valve, or a pressure/level sensor that is not reporting the rising level.

OE — washing machine

The washer has failed to empty the drum within the drain time the control board allows, so the cycle halts on a drain fault. Usual causes: blocked or kinked drain hose, clogged pump filter, failed drain pump, or a pressure sensor that never reports the empty level.

Usually: Blocked drain filter or pump impeller, trapped debris in the drain hose, a drain hose pushed too far into the standpipe, a failed drain pump, or wiring/level-sensor faults preventing the empty being detected.

UE — washing machine

The load could not be balanced across the drum. The machine refills and redistributes the load and retries, and if it still detects imbalance on the third attempt it abandons or drastically reduces the spin and displays UE. Usually a load problem (single heavy item, bedding wrapped to one side, tiny load) rather than a component failure, but worn suspension dampers, shocks or an unlevel machine cause repeat cases.

Usually: A single heavy item or bedding bunched on one side, badly under-filled or over-filled drum, machine not level on the floor, or worn suspension dampers and shock absorbers.

E8 — washing machine

The control board has detected a fault in the main drive motor circuit — specifically an abnormal signal from the motor's Hall effect (tacho) sensor, or the drum turning in the wrong direction — so it stops the motor and halts the wash. Check the motor wiring and connector block first, then the Hall sensor and the motor itself, then the control board (commonly the motor drive triac). Note that on some Daewoo models this same fault is displayed as E7, so confirm against the model's own manual.

Usually: Loose or corroded motor connector, damaged motor wiring harness, worn motor brushes or windings on brushed models, a jammed drum, or a failed motor drive stage on the PCB.

dr — refrigerator

The fridge (fresh-food) compartment door has been sensed as open continuously for an hour or more, so the board flags the R-door switch as defective and suppresses the functions that depend on it. In practice this is far more often a stuck, misaligned or failed door switch — or a door not sealing — than a genuinely open door. It clears itself automatically once the switch registers a normal open-and-close.

Usually: Door genuinely left ajar or blocked by a shelf or container, perished or distorted door gasket, misaligned or dropped door, or a faulty door reed/switch reporting open when the door is shut.

F1 — refrigerator

The freezer temperature sensor is reading out of range — either an open circuit (shown as "Lo") or a short (shown as "Hi") — so the board has no valid freezer temperature and cannot control freezer cooling properly. On many models the compressor and freezer fan then run on a fixed 25-minute on/off cycle as a fallback. The error clears itself if the sensor returns to a normal reading, so check the sensor's wiring and connector before condemning the sensor or the board.

Usually: Broken or chafed sensor wiring, corroded connector in the freezer liner, a failed thermistor, or ice build-up damaging the sensor lead.

Daewoo model families we see in UAE homes

Daewoo does not publish a UAE model catalogue, so its local range is best read from retail listings. Refrigerators cover the FR093 single-door compact and the DW-FR double-door top-mount family. Washing machines are the DWD front-load line in 7kg and 8kg sizes. The model code on the rating plate is what identifies the unit.

Daewoo parts in the UAE

Daewoo has no UAE brand-run parts channel, so components come through the regional aftermarket. Availability varies by model and we confirm it after diagnosis.

We confirm the exact part, its availability and the expected wait with you before the repair is approved. Where an original part is discontinued or slow to source, we say so and tell you what the alternative is before anything is fitted — including whether it is an OEM part or a high-grade equivalent.

How the repair works

  • Call or WhatsApp with the model number and the symptom.
  • On-site diagnosis — the fault is tested and confirmed, not guessed.
  • Fixed price, approved by you before any work starts. Parts quoted separately.
  • Tested in front of you, then 90 days of warranty on the repair.

Daewoo repair questions

My Daewoo washing machine shows IE and will not fill with water. What does that mean?

IE means the machine tried to fill but the water level never rose enough for the control board to accept it. Start with the simple checks: is the tap fully open, is the inlet hose kinked behind the machine, and is the small filter screen where the hose meets the valve clogged with scale or grit. Dubai and Sharjah water is hard, so those filters block more often than people expect. If the tap and hose are fine, the inlet valve or the level sensor is usually the culprit and needs testing. We work 24/7 across Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Abu Dhabi if you want it looked at.

There is water sitting in the drum and the machine shows OE. Can I clear it myself?

OE means the machine did not empty within the time it allows itself. Switch off at the socket first. Many cases are a blocked drain filter behind the small flap at the bottom front of the machine, and clearing it is something a customer can safely do with a shallow tray and a towel ready. If the filter is clean and it still will not drain, the pump, the drain hose or the wiring is at fault and needs a technician. Do not force a cycle repeatedly with a full drum.

Why does my Daewoo washer show UE and stop before the spin?

UE is an unbalanced load. The drum could not distribute the washing evenly, so the machine reduced or abandoned the spin rather than shake itself across the floor. Bedding, a single towel, or a heavy rug is the usual trigger. Redistribute the load, add a second item to balance it, and check the machine is level and that the transit bolts were removed when it was installed. If UE appears on normal mixed loads, the suspension dampers or the drum bearings are likely worn and should be inspected.

My Daewoo fridge is not getting cold enough in the summer. Is it worth repairing?

Usually yes, and it is worth diagnosing before replacing. In UAE summer conditions a fridge that was coping in winter can fall behind for ordinary reasons: a perished door gasket letting warm air in, a condenser coil packed with dust, a blocked defrost drain, or a failed fan. Codes such as dr point at a door that is not sealing, and sensor faults such as F1 stop the board reading the freezer temperature correctly. A technician can tell you quickly whether it is a wear part or a compressor problem, and you can decide from there.

Is 24x7 Customer Care connected to Daewoo?

No. We are an independent repair company, UNITECH HOME BUILDING MAINTENANCE L.L.C, trading as 24x7 Customer Care. We are not an appointed agent for Daewoo and we have no affiliation with the brand. We repair Daewoo appliances as a third-party service provider. If your appliance is still inside the manufacturer's own warranty period, it is usually better to go to the seller or the brand's own support first, because an independent repair can affect that warranty.

Which emirates do you cover, and can you come outside office hours?

We cover Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Abu Dhabi, and we operate 24/7, so evening and weekend calls are normal for us rather than an exception. Tell us the appliance, the model number from the rating plate, and any code showing on the display when you call, and we can send a technician with a better idea of what the job needs.

Do I have to pay a call-out fee?

The call-out charge is waived when you approve the repair. If you decide not to go ahead after the technician has diagnosed the fault, the call-out applies. We tell you the fault and the cost before any work starts, so you are never committed before you have the price.

What warranty do I get on a Daewoo repair?

We give a 90-day warranty covering both the parts we fit and the labour on the repair we carried out. If the same fault returns inside that period, we come back and put it right. The warranty covers the repair we performed, not unrelated faults that develop elsewhere in the appliance later.

Can you still get parts for an older Daewoo washing machine or fridge?

It depends on the model and its age, and we would rather check than promise. Give us the full model number from the rating plate, which is inside the door frame on a washer and inside the fridge compartment on a refrigerator, and we will confirm what is available for that specific unit and how long it takes before you commit to anything. Where a part is no longer supported we will tell you plainly, so you are not paying to diagnose a machine that cannot be finished.

My Daewoo microwave sparks or hums but does not heat. What should I do?

Stop using it and unplug it. Arcing inside the cavity is usually a burnt waveguide cover, damaged paint on the cavity wall, or metal in the microwave cavity, and it can get worse quickly. A microwave that runs but does not heat generally points to the magnetron, the high-voltage diode or the capacitor. Microwaves store a dangerous charge in the capacitor even when unplugged, so this is not a DIY job. Book a technician rather than opening the casing yourself.

Call-out fees, VAT and what each repair typically costs are set out on our pricing page. What the 90-day cover includes, and what it does not, is on warranty terms.
