Booking an independent Sharp repair
We are a licensed UAE repair company working across Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Ajman, 24 hours a day. Every repair carries a 90-day warranty on parts and labour, and the call-out is waived when you approve the work. If your appliance is still under Sharp warranty, use Sharp's own service channel first — an independent repair may affect that cover.
Which Sharp appliances we repair
We service Sharp microwaves, refrigerators and air conditioners. Every fault is tested and confirmed before any part is replaced, and you approve the price before work starts.
Common Sharp fault codes and what they actually mean
These are codes we are called out for on Sharp appliances in the UAE. A code narrows the search — it does not name the broken part on its own, which is why every job starts with a test rather than a guess.
E6 — air conditioner (split, ay-x / ay-xp inverter series)
E6 — Communication malfunction. The indoor unit has stopped receiving data from the outdoor unit, so the system halts; it resumes automatically once communication is restored. Applies to Sharp split inverter models whose indoor unit shows a two-digit numeric code (AY-X36RU-type). Do NOT list this code for the AY-XP / AY-XPC Plasmacluster series — those units signal faults by lamp flash patterns, not E-codes.
Usually: Damaged, loose or corroded interconnecting signal wiring between indoor and outdoor units — very common in UAE rooftop and balcony installs where the cable run is exposed to sun and dust. Can also be a failed indoor or outdoor PCB, or a terminal block that has been wired incorrectly after a previous repair.
F1 — air conditioner (split, ay-x / ay-xp inverter series)
F1 — Indoor ambient (room) temperature sensor open-circuit or short-circuit. The unit cannot read room temperature, so it cannot regulate; in cooling/dry mode the indoor unit continues to run while the remaining loads stop. Applies to AY-X (digit-display) split inverters only — on AY-XP / AY-XPC Plasmacluster models the equivalent fault is a lamp-flash Malfunction No. 26-1, not "F1".
Usually: A failed thermistor or a broken/unseated sensor plug on the indoor control board. Often follows a deep clean where the sensor was knocked out of its holder, or moisture ingress at the connector.
E5 — air conditioner (split, ay-x / ay-xp inverter series)
E5 — Over-current protection. The system has drawn more current than the protection threshold permits and has shut down; usual causes are unstable/low supply voltage, a dirty or blocked evaporator, or excessive load. Applies to AY-X (digit-display) split inverters; not applicable to AY-XP / AY-XPC Plasmacluster models.
Usually: Low or unstable supply voltage, a struggling compressor, or a badly restricted outdoor coil. In Dubai summer conditions a dust-blocked condenser is a frequent trigger, as is an undersized or shared supply circuit.
E1 — air conditioner (split, ay-x / ay-xp inverter series)
E1 — High-pressure protection. Discharge-side refrigerant pressure has exceeded the safe limit and the protection circuit has stopped the system; typical causes are refrigerant overcharge, a dirty or obstructed condenser, or extreme ambient heat. Applies to AY-X (digit-display) split inverters; not applicable to AY-XP / AY-XPC Plasmacluster models.
Usually: Poor heat rejection at the outdoor unit — blocked or dirty condenser coil, failed outdoor fan, or the unit boxed into a space with no airflow. Overcharge of refrigerant after a previous top-up will do it too.
Sr — refrigerator / fridge-freezer (sj series)
Sr — Temperature warning: the compartment is not reaching its set temperature. The set value flashes on the freezer display, the fridge display, or both, depending on which section is running warm; the appliance keeps running. Documented on Sharp SJ-BA-series (European-market) fridge-freezers with a digital set-value display — do not state it as a general "all SJ series" code without confirming the specific UAE model.
Usually: Often a benign, self-clearing event after a long power cut or after a large load of warm food was put in. If it persists it points at a cooling fault: iced-up evaporator, failed fan, door seal not closing, or a refrigeration circuit problem. Worth noting for UAE customers that a related dash indication ('--') on some SJ models flags supply voltage dropping below roughly 170V, which is a protection state rather than an appliance fault.
Sharp model families we see in UAE homes
Sharp's UAE microwave line is the R-20 series, 20-litre 700W-class solo units sold through local retail. Refrigerators carry the SJ prefix across multi-door, side-by-side, top-mount and bottom-mount formats. Air conditioning is the AY-X and AY-XP inverter splits paired with AE-X outdoor units. These are the series we commonly see rather than a definitive current range.

Sharp does not publish UAE spare-part availability, so we confirm the part and the wait with you at diagnosis rather than quoting a figure in advance.
We confirm the exact part, its availability and the expected wait with you before the repair is approved. Where an original part is discontinued or slow to source, we say so and tell you what the alternative is before anything is fitted — including whether it is an OEM part or a high-grade equivalent.

Sharp repair questions
My Sharp split AC is showing E6 — what does that mean and can I keep using it?
E6 means the indoor unit has lost communication with the outdoor unit, so the system stops rather than run blind. The most common cause here is damage to the signal cable running between the two units, which takes a beating from sun and dust on Dubai balconies and rooftops. It can also be a control board. Switch the unit off at the isolator and book a diagnosis — running it repeatedly through a protection trip will not fix it and can make things worse. We are an independent repair company, not an agent for Sharp.
My Sharp fridge is flashing its temperature setting — is it broken?
On Sharp SJ-series fridge-freezers a flashing set value is a warning that the compartment is not reaching the temperature you asked for. If it appeared right after a long power cut, or after you loaded a lot of warm shopping, it will often clear on its own within a few hours once the cabinet pulls back down. If it is still flashing the next day, or the food is genuinely warm, something in the cooling side needs looking at — commonly an iced evaporator, a failed fan, or a door seal that stopped sealing. Call us and we will come and check it.
Do you charge a call-out fee to look at a Sharp appliance?
We charge a call-out for the visit and diagnosis, and we waive it if you approve the repair. So if you go ahead with the work, you are not paying separately for us to have come and found the fault. We will tell you what is wrong and what it will cost before anything is done, and you decide from there.

If your appliance is still inside its manufacturer warranty, you should go through the warranty channel that came with it first, because an independent repair may affect that cover. Once the warranty has run out, or if you would rather not wait, we can help.
What warranty do I get on a Sharp repair?
We give 90 days on both the parts we fit and the labour we do. If the same fault comes back inside that period, we return and put it right. The warranty covers the repair we carried out — it is not a general cover on the rest of the appliance.
Which areas do you cover, and can someone come out today?
We cover Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman and Abu Dhabi, and our line is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Same-day attendance depends on where you are and how the day is running, so tell us your area and the fault when you call and we will give you a realistic slot rather than a guess.
My Sharp microwave runs but the food stays cold — is that worth repairing?
That symptom points at the high-voltage side that actually generates the microwave energy — the magnetron and its associated components. On Sharp's commercial counter-top ovens the control will often flag it with an EE code. It is a repairable fault, but it is not something to open up yourself: microwave ovens store a dangerous charge even after being unplugged. Let us test it, and we will tell you honestly whether the repair makes sense against the value of the unit.
How do I tell you which Sharp model I have?
There is a rating label on the appliance carrying the model number. On a fridge it is usually inside, along a side wall or near the salad drawer. On a microwave it is on the back or the side. On a split AC, check the indoor unit behind the front flap and the outdoor unit's side panel. Sharp fridges normally start SJ-, domestic microwaves R-20 or R-21 and similar, and splits AY-X or AY-XP. Send us that number and we can turn up better prepared.
My Sharp AC keeps cutting out in the afternoon heat — what is going on?
Protection shutdowns that only happen in the hottest part of the day usually trace back to the outdoor unit not being able to dump heat. A condenser coil packed with dust and sand, a failed outdoor fan, or the unit crammed into a space with no airflow will all push pressures and current past the point where the board cuts in — you may see a high-pressure or over-current code. It is worth having checked properly rather than just topping up gas, which often is not the actual problem.
